Tanker truck collides with irrigation pivot

May 30, 2008

Berrien County -- An irrigation pivot in the middle of Highway 125 was struck early Friday morning by a northbound tanker truck. According to police officials, the driver of a Fuel South Express truck was conscious when they arrived on the scene but it's not yet known how the irrigation pivot moved onto the roadway.

The tanker truck sustained major damage to the cab but had already unloaded its fuel supply prior to the accident which occurred near mile marker 20. It was carrying fuel for Flash Foods.

The name of the driver has not been released, but he was transported to Tift Regional Medical Center. Georgia State Patrol is in charge of the investigation.
