Albany -- A frustrating job for one Albany armed robber overnight. He tried to hold up the Flash Foods store at Gillionville and Westover but left empty-handed because of a broken cash register.
Police say the man pulled a gun inside the store around 3:30 Thursday morning, forced customers to the floor and ordered the clerk to open the register.
Apparently the clerk didn't move fast enough, so the robber shoved the register off the counter and onto the floor. Well, that broke it.
So he couldn't get any money. He left empty-handed.
Thankfully, he didn't shoot anyone. Police haven't yet caught him.
