Thomasville Dragons ready for historic home opener

Thomasville - History will be made in Thomasville Saturday night when the Thomasville Dragons soccer team plays their first ever home game.

The Dragons are playing their first season in the Women's Premier Soccer League.

 The team opened its inagural season with a tie last week in Puerto Rico.

The Dragons roster consists of NCAA and NAIA college players.

Former Deerfield-Windsor soccer star Tracey Mitchell is among those on the Dragons roster. Tracey working to improve her game before she returns for her sophomore season at Armstrong Atlantic State this fall.

Tracey Mitchel said "Usually collegiate players learn a lot themselves. The experience here playing with the more experience players helps us learn more."

Naili Owens who plays at the University of West Florida said "I am just trying to improve my skills and make sure I stay fit for the next season." 

 The Thomasville Dragons will five home matches at Thomas University. Their final home match on July 4th is at Remington Park.
