Albany - The highest ranking enlisted member of the United States Marine Corps visited the base in Albany Thursday. Sergeant Major Carlton Kent's job includes taking care of the Marines who serve the Corps. Currently he's touring bases around the country to motivate Marines and talk to them about their concerns.

He says the Marines and civilians who work at the logistics base in Albany are vital to the Mission of the Corps. "Truly they do some great things for our Corps," he said.  "If you look at it, almost every piece of gear that's being sent to combat actually comes through this combat center. So I am just here to thank them and tell them that they are doing great things for our nation and our Corps."

Sergeant Major Kent serves as the right hand to the Commandant of the Marine Corps.
