Valdosta offers free CRCT schools

Valdosta - Good news for the students who did not pass their CRCT exams in Valdosta.

The school system is offering a free three week intensive summer camp for third, fifth and eight graders.

The program will provide breakfast, lunch and free transportation for students.

Two weeks will focus on math and reading, the two sections most students did not pass.

The third week will allow students to re-take the exam.

They hope it will help more students make the grade.  "We want to make sure parents don't fall back on that, to insist their children do go to summer school because we would hate for misinformation to be out there and their children be held back when they could have just gone to summer school," says JC Cunningham, a school employee and member of the Citizens Action Group.

The eight grade course will begin June fourth at J.L. Newburn.

The fifth and third grade course will begin June second at W.G Nunn Elementary.
