Albany - Dougherty County Commissioners still haven't decided whether to approve the racing of more vehicles at the Albany Motor Speedway.
Earlier this month, commissioners denied a rezoning request unless the race track built a 25-foot noise-reducing berm. The owners said that would be too expensive.
They offered to build a smaller berm and require mufflers on vehicles.
Racetrack owners and commissioners are still gathering information on whether those mufflers will decrease the noise output enough to satisfy homeowners nearby. They expect to make a decision next week.
