Albany -- Hundreds of Dougherty County High School seniors walked across the stage Saturday and into their new title, graduates.

And family and friends filled the Civic Center to cheer them on as they ended their high school education.

Tears were shed during Westover High's commencement ceremony Saturday morning. But family and friends all say this is only the beginning of a lifetime of success for these graduates.

"This is the beginning, they have college to look forward too. Matter of fact, Talisha is getting ready to go to Darton. And she has her whole life ahead of her," said Yolanda Ware.

"For Josh, the doors have just opened for him. This is the first of many. Great job," said Mike Blackwell.

238 seniors graduated from Westover High school. Albany High School also held their graduation ceremony Saturday morning.
