Even though the roads will be packed this weekend, Triple-A predicts the number of drivers will be down slightly from last year.
The reason is pretty obvious.
We keep hitting new record high gas prices every day.
We caught up with one south Georgia family on the way from Tifton to Jacksonville.
The Phillips family hit the gas station to fill up on Friday.
As they got started on their 160 mile trip, they told us they won't let gas prices slow them down.
"And even though the gas prices are high we're just going to sacrifice the prices and go home, we got a few family members that are not coming because of gas prices and they've got SUV's so they're staying home," Glorous Phillips, Holiday Traveler.
The cost to fill that SUV up for the trip to Jacksonville $105.
