GA Power hikes fees

Valdosta - Prices at the pump are up and while you may be conserving fuel, you'll still feel the pinch.

Georgia Power is almost one month away from raising their fees.

The company announced they'll hike their rates for residential customers to help pay for the gas costs.

That starts July first.

They have over two million customers all over the state and are present in all but four of Georgia's 159 counties.

    Albany leaders are considering a new budget that includes an Albany Utilities rate hike that when added up will bring in $2.6 million annually to the utility. Divided out, it will mean a maximum of $7.68 per a customer that has all five services, less money for customers that use less services.

    It's an intersection that sees over 10,000 drivers a day. It also has been the scene of three accidents, two of which were fatal, in 2017 alone.
