Leesburg--As Memorial Day approaches, a Lee County teenager is putting the finishing touches on a project to honor Iraq veterans.

As his Eagle Scout project, Jeremy Kluball created a tribute for all troops who served in Operation Desert Storm and the current Iraq War.

The monument sits in Stovall-Yeoman Park in downtown Leesburg.

On Thursday, Jeremy and other scouts from troup 210 placed the stone in preparation for the Leesburg Memorial Day Service on Monday.

"It's something that touches everybody, it doesn't matter if you're for or against the war you know somebody, you've know somebody who's been a veteran, your next door neighbor could be a veteran and it just touches everybody," said Jeremy Kluball, Troop 210.

Jeremy raised $1,800 to have the monument engraved on both sides.
