Highway construction suspended for holiday weekend
May 22, 2008
Valdosta - Interstate 75 construction will be halted as hundreds of thousands of vehicles hit the highway for Memorial Day weekend.
Construction projects in Crisp, Turner, Cook and Tift Counties will be suspended and all lanes of the busy interstate will be open to accommodate travelers from 5:00 AM Friday through 10:00 Monday night.
Be aware, though, construction zones are still posted and speed limits are lower in those zones.
Even though the road work won't be going on, pay close attention to traffic control devices and signs while driving through construction zones.
