Wrecked boat to be recovered

May 21, 2008

Lake Seminole --  A boat that crashed into a tree on Lake Seminole Saturday will be pulled out of the limbs Thursday.     The boat remains entangled in a cypress tree.

DNR Rangers say they will use a barge with a hydraulic lift to remove the 20 Sprint Boat.

Authorities told us that alcohol was present in the boat when it crashed Saturday evening, but they don't yet know if alcohol contributed to the wreck.

We now know the driver of the boat is 40-year-old William Jones the third of Tallahassee. The passengers in the boat are 42-year-old Karen Criswell, 38-year-old James Swearingen and 47-year-old Debrah Bell, all of Tallahassee, and 38-year-old Robert Thompson, Junior of Bellaire, Florida and 49-year-old Sylvia Fountain of Jupiter, Florida.

All six on board are recovering from their injuries.
