Albany --  The Willson Hospice House of Albany received a major donation Wednesday.

Dr. Jose Tongol, founder of the Albany Marathon presented a $23,000 check to Patty Woodall  for the Willson Hospice House. The money comes from the proceeds of the Snickers Marathon Bar Marathon.

Tongol's own mother died of lung cancer while in hospice care. The Willson Hospice House will have 18 beds to allow those with terminal illnesses to end their lives with dignity.

Patty Woodall of the Willson Hospice House says that construction for the facility should begin in the fall, and will take about a year to complete.
