Albany--  With rising prices at the grocery store, shoppers will soon have a one-stop shop for reduced produce.

In about three weeks, the Southwest Georgia Food Alliance will kick off their Farmer's Market in downtown Albany.

Vendors will set up in the area on West Broad beside the old Goodwill store. Shoppers will be able to purchase all kinds of homegrown products at affordable prices.

"It costs a lot to transport produce from across the country to Albany and when it finally gets to us it costs so much more when we can support the farmers who are in the area who grow produce day in and day out," said Shirley Sherrod, GA Director for the Federation of Southern Cooperatives.

Saturday June 7th will be opening day. The market will be held every Saturday through October between 10 and 4. This year, even live entertainment is on the menu.
