Cordele-  The crowd has thinned at the Cordele-Crisp County Airport as the Region 5 South glide plane contest wrapped up this weekend.

The six day competition which featured pilots mostly from the southeastern U-S wrapped up Saturday. In the 15 meter class Robin Clark, Fernando Silva, and Ed Hollestelle finished one, two, and three respectively and in the Sports Class Wally Berry, Heinz McArthur and Don Wasness topped the leader board.

The National Competition continues through Thursday and winners from that competition will secure a spot on the U-S World Soaring Team.
