Albany --  Drivers in downtown Albany need to watch out for changes Tuesday night at the intersection of North Jefferson at West Roosevelt Avenue; that's where the railroad tracks are.

The Georgia Department of Transportation will re-stripe the northbound lane on Jefferson Street, changing one lanes into three lanes.

There will be a left turn lane, a center thru lane, and a right turn lane. The southbound lane of Jefferson at Roosevelt will be changed to two lanes, with a left turn lane and a through-lane.

Employees at a car wash at the intersection say the changes are needed.  "I think stripes on the road will be a pretty good idea. Keep some of the motorists safe," says Keavan Harris of Pacific Auto Detail.

The Georgia Department of Transportation will re-stripe the Jefferson and Roosevelt Intersection starting at 9:30 Tuesday night, so Wednesday morning watch for the lane changes there.
