Teens injured in Albany shooting

May 17, 2008

Albany -- Two Albany teenagers are recovering Saturday night from an early morning shooting.

It happened in the 800 block of Mercer Avenue sometime after midnight. A 16-year-old girl was injured in her foot, and a 17-year-old boy was shot in the thigh.

So far no arrests have been made, but Albany Police did collect ten to 15 bullet casings from what they believe to be a drive-by shooting.

Right now, police don't think the incident was gang related.
