Burglary suspects identified by WALB viewers

May 16, 2008

Albany -- Investigators credit you with helping catch two Albany men charged with breaking into a convenience store and stealing lottery tickets.

A couple of weeks ago, we showed you this surveillance video from the Express Lane on Sylvester Road, April 24th.

Two men wearing masks, head wraps, and gloves, threw a big rock through the window to break in then stole cigarettes and lottery tickets. Later that afternoon, they tried to cash those tickets at another convenience store.

Shortly after we showed this video, several of you called Police and identified these guys. Dougherty County Police Captain Jimmy Sexton said "We received several phone calls from the public, and they were quite helpful in locating these individuals."

Police say the tall guy is 19 year old Michael Eady, and the shorter one is 21 year old Kevin Thomas.

They surrendered Thursday and are in the Dougherty County Jail.
