New Attitude Wildcats ready for Sharks

May 15, 2008

Albany - South Georgia Wildcats coach Derek Stingley says the team has had their best week of practice of the season.

That is not surprising since at the beginning of the week the coach said all starting jobs for Saturday's game against Corpus Christi would be based on who worked the best in practice.

The coach says the starters did respond and all have kept their jobs.

The only change is Alvin Ray Jackson will start at linebacker and the coach believes the new attitude of his team will be noticed on the field Saturday night.

Derek Stingley said "They understand where I am coming from and where the staff is coming from now. Because I totally different than I was at the beginning of the year."

Coach Stingley says tight end Andre Slappey and back up nose guard Nate Finelay will both miss this week's game to attend weddings.

Defensive lineman Ray Gant is out with a shoulder injury.

Kickoff against Corpus Christi is at 7-30 Saturday night at the Albany Civic Center.
