Albany-  Business and Community leaders across Dougherty County were locked up Thursday for a good cause.

More than 100 people participated in the Muscular Dystrophy Association Lock Up. Community leaders volunteer an hour of their time to be finger printed and booked, then collect "bail" money that goes to MDA. It's one of the group's largest local fundraiser.

"It goes for Flu shots which is as small as $25.00 to sending a child to camp which we have at St. Simon's Island this year which is $800.00, to a wheelchair which is $2,000.00," said Crystal Lee MDA District Director.

Jailbirds including City Commissioner Tommy Postell were asked to raise three thousand dollars each. Don't worry, those who didn't raise quite that much bond money were released after an hour for good behavior.

If you would like to donate to MDA you can call (850)681-6763.
