Patriots starting from scratch this spring

May 12, 2008

Albany - May is not only the time for flowers but also high school spring football.

The Westover High Patriots starting week two of spring drills.

The Patriots are coming off their best season in school history when they reached the state quarterfinals.

Head coach Jeff Caldwell says last year is over and Westover must look forward to a new year and finding replacements for players like tight end linebacker Jason Jones, who signed with Ole Miss, and quarterback Brandon Lee.

Jeff Caldwell said "Like I said working on fundamentals. It is important that you get off to a good start. Everyone is working hard and attitudes are where they are supposed to be and that is what we are working on."

Westover will open their season at Lee County on August 29th.
