Albany --  Chrysler is offering to lock in gas for $2.99 a gallon for up to three years if you buy one of their vehicles.   That's a 64 cent per gallon savings as of today, and it'll be an even bigger saving when gas prices go higher.

To get the deal, you have to buy a new 2008 or 2009 Chrysler car or truck. It's not just gasoline, the offer's also good for diesel.

"Right now for diesel for instance it's well over four dollars a gallon, right now you would only pay $2.99 a gallon. Whatever the price of gas is a year from now, two years from now again, they're guaranteeing you will pay no more than $2.99 a gallon," Carl Gregory General Manager, C. David Drake.

The deal is only good up to 12,000 miles a year. The cost is automatically deducted when you pay with your credit card, so even though the pump says $3.63, when your statement comes back it will reflect $2.99.

General manager David Drake says it has brought more customers to the lot interested in vehicles.
