Albany family homeless after fire

May 10, 2008

Albany -- An Albany family is homeless Saturday night after a morning fire destroyed their home.

Just after 9:30 AM, firefighters rushed to put out the flames at 1002 West Lincoln Avenue.

Though the fire only took a few minutes to get under control, it caused about eight thousand dollars worth of damage.

The blaze started in one of the children's bedrooms where firefighters believe a child may have been playing with matches or a lighter.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
