Albany -- Several dozen Mayors and Government leaders are in Albany this weekend to meet with State legislators.

The annual Georgia Conference of Black Mayors is holding its Spring Conference at Albany State University. Friday morning the visiting Mayors were greeted with music.

There are 42 Black Mayors in Georgia. Mayor Willie Burns of Washington says the conference gives newly elected officials guidance that helps them serve their communities.

Burns said "so you get to meet some people with some real solid advice. On how not to be divisive, how to build consensus, and work with even the legislative standpoint."

Friday afternoon the Mayors met with State Representatives Winfred Dukes and Tyrone Brooks and toured the Flint Riverquarium. The conference will continue Saturday.
