Tifton - It was a homecoming for ABAC women's coach Julie Conner when she resurrected the Fillies basketball program in 2000.
But there is another job in Tifton that Conner considers to be home.
That is job is at her high school.
TTift County Board of Education has approved hiring Julie Conner as the head basketball coach of the Tift County Lady Blue Devils.
Conner led ABAC to a state title in 2002 and was the region coach of the year in 2003.
She says she has loved every minute coaching at ABAC but it is hard to pass up an opportunity to coach at your high school alma mater where Conner's father was the Tift County boys basketball coach in the 1970's.
Julie Conner said "I can remember when my daddy coached. Walking in there during practice.
It is just special. It will be different buildings but it is still playing for the "Blue".
Julie Conner takes over for Michelle Caldwell who resigned after this season.
