Albany State signs two local standouts in softball and volleyball

Albany -  Albany State softball and volley ball coach Robert Skinner is currently leading his team in the NCAA Division II South regional in Miami Shores, Florida this week.

His work on the recruiting trail is paying off while he is working in south Florida.

Dougherty softball standout Brishauna Peterson signed a national letter of intent with the Albany Sate softball team.Peterson was an all-region infielder for three seasons but says she will likely play outfield next season for the Lady Rams softball team.

The Albany State volleyball team, which has won five straight SIAC titles, signed Randolph-Clay's Precious Peak on Wednesday.

Peak was the area player of the year last fall and is a four time all-area selection and three time Most Valuable Player for the Lady Red Devils.

Precious Peak is also an all-star basketball player and coach Robert Skinner wants her to play for the Lady Rams basketball team.

Precious, whose older sister Aldrany was a four year starter for the Albany State women's basketball team, says for now she will only play volleyball.
