Albany-  Bad news about your health might make you turn to a pastor for guidance, and today those pastors learned how to better help you cope with that news.

More than 100 pastors from as close as Albany and as far away as Ben Hill County gathered at Phoebe's HealthWorks Complex for Operation Balm.

It's a one and a half day conference designed to train ministers and lay people how to minister to hospital patients and their family members. For some, it's just a good reminder of what they already know.

"A lot of pastors know this, this is just a good refresher to kind of put it in some structure for them and also to learn from each other some different ways of how to do things," said Ricky Thrasher, State Chaplain Representative.

This is the second year for the program and Phoebe plans to make it an annual event.
