Albany -- Andrew Harris Junior is a licensed funeral director and licensed embalmer and has worked in several funeral homes in Dougherty County.

He says his experience makes him the better candidate.

But as the coroner, he hopes to bring compassion to the position by having an open door policy for each family.

"If the family calls, you should be able to give some type of answer. You also are going to work hard to try to find out what did happen to that diseased person. You are not going to leave no stone unturned until you find out what happened," said Harris.

Andrew Harris will be running against Emma Quimbley, the current coroner for Dougherty County.
