Albany--A scary sight late Saturday afternoon after a truck left the road and ended up upside down in front of someone's home.

Police say 64-year-old Guy Welch was driving east on Whispering Pines near Groveland Road when he hit the curb, took out a homeowner's mailbox, and landed upside down in the front yard.

Welch was not wearing a seat belt, and had to be extricated from the pick-up truck. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said he was swerving back and fourth before hitting the curb.

Welch will be charged with having an open container in the vehicle, DUI, and Failure to maintain a lane.
