Albany -- Hugh Mills Stadium was host to the final day of competition in the GHSA girls track and field state championships Saturday afternoon.
With the field events wrapping up Saturday, the top runners in the state were on the track, and looking to race to a state title.
The Early County girls finshed tied for third overall in Class AA, with 34 points.
The Lady Bobcats were second in the AA 400-meter relay with a time of 49.743 seconds, and their #2 team finished fifth.
Early County sophomore Antquinita Reed finished second in the 400-meter dash, with her time of 59.733 seconds just two one-hundredths of a second behind the winner.
Reed also place fourth in the 200 meter dash.
Turner County's T'Keyah Cheevers was third in the 100-meter dash in Class-A.
Mitchell County's Aschiaa Davis finshed third at the AA level with a time of 12.548, and Cook's Kendra Carter placed seventh in the same race seventh.
Kenza Wilson finished fourth in the 100 meter dash for Monroe high school in AAA, crossing the line in 11.982 seconds.
Wilson was also fourth in the 200 meter race.
The Lady Tornados Lakeisha Jackson was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, while Lowndes' Keira Peak finishined fifth in AAAAA.
Moneka English of Westover ran to a sixth place finish in the AAA 800 meter race.
In the 200-meter dash, Irwin County's Shandreca Johnson was third in Class A, and Thomas County Central's Brittany Franklin was fourth at the AAAA level.
