Albany -- The GHSA girls track and field state championships begin Thursday at Hugh Mills Stadium, and Monroe's Kenza Wilson is looking to bring home a few state titles.
The junior is the top qualifier in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash, and is also a member of the Lady Tornados 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams.
She placed fifth in all four events as a freshman.
Wilson says running on the track at Hugh Mills is a nice home-field advantage, and while competing in four events isn't easy, she'll ready.
"Sometimes it can be rough," says Wilson, "but you just have to set your mind to running."
Head coach Octavia Jones says, "Kenza Wilson is looking very good. She's running very well in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. She's going to be our best home of scoring any points in the state meet this year."
The state championships begin Thursday at 4pm with the 400-meter relays, and runs through Saturday.
