Albany- The old Turner Field Naval Hospital building goes on the auction block next week. The Preferred Development Group that bought the property on McAdams Road two years ago is dissolving.
They plan to auction off the building and 10 acres with a starting bid of $150,000.
"We've been contacted by several groups who are interested in the property, I don't know what they intend to do with it, as we say we don't really care what they do with it as long as they pay for it," said Wally Binns, J. Durham and Associates, Inc.
On the Dougherty County Tax Assessors website the property is valued at $88,700 and is zoned commercial.
The building is said to be in need a lot of cosmetic work, but it structurally sound.
