Albany --  Dougherty County School administrators will now regulate the music played during school functions.

High school administrators drafted a policy after two parents expressed concern about the song "Crank Dat" by SouljaBoy, being played by high school bands.

Board members decided to put a similar policy in place for all schools in Dougherty County.

"It just teaches kids the wrong things and our kids are our future," says Parent Bryan Bartholomew. "And its upon us parents to make sure that they learn things that will make them successful at life and songs like crank dat soulja boy does not lend to the foundations of success."

The policy requires that lyrics to music that will be played during any school function be provided to principals to approve.
