Lee County -- A Lee County veteran is running for the 2nd District Congressional seat.
57-year old Lee Ferrell qualified Monday in Atlanta to run for the seat held by Sanford Bishop.
Ferrell is a retired Air Force Staff Sergeant and he says he wants to help other veterans and troops. Ferrell said "I just don't believe they are treating the veterans and the soldiers right. They just, medical care and equipment they've got."
Ferrell is running as a Republican.
Congressman Sanford Bishop also qualified Monday to run for a 9th term in office.
