Albany--A downtown Albany landmark is leaving. First Baptist Church has been located downtown since 1906.

The church is now moving to a new facility in Lee County. The move has been in the works for 12-years.

"This was an idea of relocating to where more people are in terms of the demographic of out church." Said Butch Knight, the pastor of First Baptist Church.

The church will still use and maintain the old building.

The first service in the new facility is set for May 4th.

The 7-million dollar building includes a sanctuary that can be divided in 14-classrooms.
