Center dedicated to Bob Boren

April 23, 2008

Albany -- Part of a center for sex crime victims was dedicated to a former Assistant Police Chief Wednesday. The sexual violence center at the Lily Pad was named for the late Bob Boren.

He was on the board of directors and died of cancer in February. Bob's widow Priscilla Boren said "he loved this organization. He was always involved with them because he felt that victims of sexual assault and abuse needed a safe and confidential place to come to, and he was always a big supporter of this ."

Another function of the Bob Boren Center will be to train Police Officers on dealing with sexual violence victims and crimes, and prevention programs to fight violence in the community.
