Albany -- Albany Police arrest two men they say were caught getting ready to strip an air conditioner's copper.

24-year old Brandon Hoogstra and 18-year old David Curles, both of Albany, are charged with criminal trespass.

An alert bar security guard caught them opening an air conditioner about 1:30 this morning behind the closed Bistro 717 restaurant in a strip mall on Westover Boulevard. The two ran, but Police caught them in the Heritage Bank parking lot bushes.

They told Police they were just practicing repairs on that air conditioning unit, because Hoogstra's home air conditioner was broken. Police didn't buy that story and arrested them.
