Valdosta - More growth at a South Georgia college.
Valdosta Technical College opened state of the art labs for its Clinical Laboratory Technician Program.
Previously, the students had to use labs at area medical facilities.
College administrators say the labs add a lot to the program and will help fight the shortage of health care workers throughout the state.
"In every job, from doctors to nurses to technicians in our medical facilities so our tech colleges have a key role, over 48,000 of our students are involved in health care today," says Carl Swearingel, Chairman of the Technical School System of Georgia.
The opening comes just weeks after the college announced that enrollment reached a record high and that they planned to start a culinary arts program.
