Former UGA RB running north of the border

Valdosta - A knee injury cost former Georgia running back Robert Edwards the chance to play in the NFL.

Edwards though has found a home in the Canadian Football League.

Edwards, one of the celebrities at Valdosta State football coach David Dean's golf tournament Monday, played last year in Toronto is currently on the free agent market.

Edwards may play north of the border but he is excited about the prospects for the Bulldog football team this fall.

Robert Edwards said "We have a tough schedule. If we can get through this scheduled undefeated, there is no reason why we shouldn't be number one.  

Robert Edwards younger brother Terence plays for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and was the leading receiver in the CFL last year.
