Boy Scouts attend County Commission meeting

April 21, 2008

Albany -- A Boy scout troop attended today's Dougherty County Commission meeting to learn more about how their government works.

All the members of Troop 23 are home schooled. They studied and took notes during this morning's meeting. It's part of their study of community leadership and will help them earn merit badges. Landon Butler said the Scouts were surprised by how brief the meeting was. Butler said "it was fun, and not too long. It was informative in how they run their meetings."

After the meeting Commissioner Lamar Hudgins and County Administrator Richard Crowdis spent time with the scouts, answering their questions.
