Albany -- Dougherty County Commissioners again put off a vote on whether to re-zone a race track.

The Albany Motor Speedway wants approval to run several bigger types of race cars. They're now just licensed for Legends Cars. Neighbors say the noise is already too bad. They presented commissioners with petitions against the track.

John Hayes is the commissioner for that area. He had to miss Monday morning's meeting to take his child to the Doctor in Augusta.

Dougherty County Commission Chairman Jeff Sinyard said "what we were hoping for is that someway that the business community and the residents could come up with something that made sense of both sides."

Commissioners said they will vote on the rezoning at their next meeting on Wednesday April 30th, when Hayes is present.
