Albany -- The Darton golf team won the Darton College Invitational at Stonebridge Sunday, with a two day total of 586.
Georgia SouthWestern was second at 612, and ABAC third with 648.
Darton sophomore Matt Smith is the medalist, with rounds of 71 and 72, and finished one-under par for the tournament.
The Cavs Jin Chung carded the low round on Sunday, scoring a 68 despite a bogey on 18.
Chung finished tied with teammate Andy Lewis for second place, two shots behind Smith.
The Hurricanes Adam McKenny (+2) placed fourth.
Darton's Chesley Gunn and Evan Hanna finished tied for fifth at three-over par.
Matt Smith ended his round with a birdie, and the medalist says he knew his teammate had already posted a good score.
"I knew Jin (Chung) had played well today," says Smith, "and I needed to make birdie on 18. Par at worst, and I was fortunate to come out with a birdie."
Head coach Dale Dover says, "He had it in there pretty close, and I just went and told him, 'Let's just roll it down there.' All he had to do was to two-putt in order to win medalist, and he needed that. He's come a long way this semester."
The Region tournament begins May 5th in Helen, Georgia.
The Cavaliers have won the title each of the past six years.
