Albany- A city of Albany truck hit a man on a bicycle Thursday morning.

The bicycle was crushed under the Albany City solid waste pickup truck just before ten on East Ogelthorpe at Rosebrier Avenue. Police say 58-year old Robert James Lee was riding his bike northbound in the southbound lane of Ogelthorpe and rode in front of the truck.

Witnesses say Lee walked to the ambulance for treatment. 39-year old Adonis Lewis, a route supervisor, was driving the city truck and was not hurt. Public Works Director Phil Roberson said  "my employee is telling me that he just appeared out in front of him on Ogelthorpe, and he hit the bicycle."

Police say Lee suffered only minor injuries and they could file charges against him.
