The Albany Chamber of Commerce encourages quality candidates to run.   The chamber is holding free information sessions about the roles and responsibilities of the school board.

Representatives from the Georgia School Board Association were on hand Wednesday night to answer questions from potential candidates.

"Service on the school board is a very important position, and we hope there are those out there that would like to know more about it and have a desire to serve, because it's an incredible important position and we want people who are interested in the welfare of our children to be members." Said Wendy Martin, Chamber of Commerce Interim President.

If you're interested in being on the school board and missed this session. The chamber will have another free information session on June 10th.
