Bainbridge--  Former Bainbridge High School baseball and football player Deltrice Riles was killed in a truck crash in Louisiana in 2005.   That year his father started a scholarship and it was awarded to a Bainbridge High School student.

That started the Deltrice Riles Memorial Sports Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament. His father Gary and Uncle Ernie Riles, a former pro baseball player put it on every year to give scholarships to student athletes.

"He was a giving person so that's one reason too we give this scholarship. Even though a tragedy happened in my family, there is some good that's coming out of it. We're helping kids with their education," says Gary Riles.

The 4-man scramble golf tournament is at Donalsonville Country Club on Saturday, tee off at 8 a.m.  Entry fee is $50 a player.

Donations to the Deltrice Riles Memorial Sports Scholarship Fund can be mailed to Riles Flooring at 421 N Broad St, Bainbridge, GA.
