Albany -- A Lee County commissioner is trading in her elected office for a Marine Corps commission.

Commissioner Jo Ealum, her sister, Susie, and a cousin are enlisting in the Marine Corps Friday at their father's house in Albany.

Her father, Darrell, said Tuesday that all three will be attending officer candidate school.

There had been speculation that Jo Ealum would not seek another term on the commission.
