Gunman robs woman at Albany motel

April 14, 2008

Albany -- A gunman threatens to kill a woman during an armed robbery at a Downtown Albany motel.

53 year old Deborah Moss tells police as she opened her door at the Days Inn on West Oglethorpe, two men jumped her from behind. She says one of them pushed her to the floor, stuck a gun between her eyes and threatened to kill her unless she gave him money.

The men left after she convinced them she didn't have any cash.

Law Enforcement officers say motel customers must use caution. Dougherty Co. Sheriff's Office Investigators Captain Craig Dodd said "keep your head up. You keep your eyes open. You look around you at all times to see what's going on around you. Always have your key available when you get out of your vehicle, to go directly into your room."

Albany Police are investigating the robbery, but have made no arrests.
