Albany-- Albany Police say the fourth suspect in a string of dangerous armed robberies has turned himself in.
17-year-old Donte Barber is now in custody, just one day after police went to the media to get information on his whereabouts.
20-year-old Nathaniel Wingfield, 19-year-old Alonzo Mingo, and 20-year-old Booker Sims are all charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, and transaction fraud. Police say the men are connected to a holdup a week ago at the Bank of America on West Oglethorpe.
Phyllis Banks APD Media Manager it was probably because of media coverage Barber turned himself in.
"Donte Barber did come down to the police department and turned himself in, he was interviewed by investigators and after that interview they have now charged him with the same charges as the other three individuals."
On Saturday night Barber was being fingerprinted and booked at the Dougherty County Jail.
The four are also suspected in several other armed robberies in the past two weeks, and the kidnapping of a man at gunpoint who was leaving the Broadway Court Apartments.
