Albany -- Time is running out for those of you who still need to file your tax return. Your tax return must be postmarked no later than Tuesday April 15th.
H&R Block offices in Albany have seen a steady stream of customers, especially since in order to receive an economic stimulus check you have to file a return.
But less time means less room to make adjustments on your applications. That is why they are telling procrastinators to come in prepared.
"With it being this late in the game, they need to have them ready. And they need to try and complete on the first time they go into the office. They also need to probably e-file. E-file is a lot less of a hassle, and they would get their return a lot faster than just mailing it in," said District Operations Specialist, Cliffton Bush.
If you file for an extension and owe money to Uncle Sam, it will not exclude you from having to pay on time. You need to pay at least 90 percent of what you owe along with the extension to avoid getting any penalties.
