Albany -- At least eight Shots were fired in an East Albany neighborhood Thursday night as nearly a dozen men beat a teenager unconscious.

Witnesses told Police that 10 or 12 men jumped 16-year old Darius Williams in the front yard of his home on Marie Road about 7:30 last night. Williams told Police some of the attackers were gang members but said he did not think the attack was gang related.

A Police Officer said he heard 8 gunshots. He found Williams unconscious, beaten but not shot.

Neighbors did not want to talk to us on camera Friday, but said a neighbor fired the shots in the air to try to stop the beating.

Williams was treated at the hospital and released. No arrests have been made.
